The Frenchtown Community Association is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1987 and established on December 12, 1991 to serve the community built by Louisiana descendants who migrated to Texas over seventy years ago.

Historical Markers 2 markers installed on St. Valentine's Day Feb. 14, 2008. Dedication ceremony pending for May 31, 2008 2-4 pm location tba One marker recognizing the Frenchtown Community is located at the corner of Hwy 59 and Liberty Road. The second marker recognizing Zydeco Music (includes Clifton Chenier's contributions) in Frenchtown is located at the corner of Hwy 59 and Collingsworth near the Continental Club.
Frenchtown Zydeco Festival Fundraiser - to be announced
The association is currently seeking corporate sponsors, volunteers (individual, corporate, religious and social organization, etc.),
vendors - profit and non-profit (concessions, product, services, etc.), performers, raffle prize donations, education, church, civic, corporate and media (newspaper, radio, television, etc.) participation, etc. for this event. Interested parties should contact one of the board members listed below or attend the next board or community meeting.
Long-term Projects:
The association is currently seeking public and private grants, individual and corporate sponsors for the following projects:
Community Center - A base to provide education and job training, address social needs and economic concerns, preserve and promote cultural heritage in the community
The Frenchtown Community Center Project
Donated land is available to erect this center
Community Revitalization & Development - single and multi-family housing and economic revitalization
Cultural Heritage - Zydeco/Creole Radio Program short-term, Zydeco/Creole Radio Station long-term. Currently seeking public and private funding support and a radio station to host the program.
